PUBLIC WORKS OVERVIEW
Many of the services that touch our residents everyday lives are managed under the Public Works Department umbrella. The department has 47 full-time and part-time employees and about 6 contracted laborer positions to assist with seasonal operations. All services and programs are provided utilizing an operational budget of about $10 million.
Traditional city services such as snow and ice removal, street lighting, street maintenance, sanitation, recycling, construction management, and engineering services, are provided under the auspices of the Public Works Department. In addition to these traditional services, the City operates one of the state's oldest running recycling programs.
Another Reason To Recycle: Recycling creates jobs.
