Right of Way Permit Program
About the Permit Program If you plan to excavate, occupy or use public right-of-way to complete your construction or improvement project, you must obtain a permit from the Public Works Department. No matter how large or small, your improvement project is, if it calls for excavation, removal, use, occupation or disturbing the City’s right-of-way in any way, you must adhere to the City’s rules and regulations covering work in the right-of-way. These regulations are enforced by a team of engineers who inspect projects throughout the City for public right-of-way safety hazards or other violations of city codes. Failure to obtain a permit could result in a stop work order and fines. Before it StartsPrior to the start of any construction or improvement project, obtain a permit from the Public Works Department. For a complete listing of permit rules and regulations refer to our information packet or visit the Public Works and Parks Department. Right-of-Way Rules and Regulations At the Site
